summary of my origins and training in the film industry

Juan Luis Poveda Lopez, born in 1952, Cordoba Spain & Alicia Lourdes Perciante Ferrara, also born in 1952 in Buenos Aires Argentina, are my parents, they had me on 15th July  1974 in Buenos Aires Argentina.

I lived a happy childhood during political turmoil's in Latin America; My academic journey began as a medical student in the University of Buenos Aires, I then decided to follow my artist heart and changed fields to what was then only a hobby, the visual arts.

While attending film school in San Telmo (one of the oldest and most traditional neighborhoods in Buenos Aires, famous for its colonial legacy, historic architecture, bohemian atmosphere and the birthplace of tango) a production company called Cinetauro gave me the opportunity to join the industry, scouting on a 35mm camera, making boards for clients & production assisting on shoots throughout Argentina for directors Jojo & Bosco- I graduated  film school and decided to move to Spain to continue my film career in the technical world. I started as a spark, best boy, continued my journey working as a video op, 2nd ac, passed through focus puller ... I managed the Camera Department for one of the largest production companies in Spain.

With almost 30 years experience now in the film industry, having worked on films,  TV spots, video clips, shorts films, TV series, around the world, Now days, I work as Senior DIT & Junior Colorist.

main page art inspired · filete porteño

Filete Porteño is an artistic style of painting and drawing typical of Buenos Aires. Its origins date back to the horse-drawn carts that transported food in the late 19th century. The history of filete porteño has gone through many stages: popular, then banned, and finally recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. The filete technique requires brushwork, sketching, drawing, and painting. The volume of the ornament is provided by midtones, shadows, and highlights. Witty phrases, poetic sayings and humorous aphorisms written in ornate lettering are also incorporated. Filete Porteño constitutes a cultural heritage with which the citizens of Buenos Aires feel deeply identified.
